Jen Calleja is a writer and literary translator from German. Her debut poetry collection Serious Justice, published by Test Centre in 2016, was shortlisted for the Melita Hume Poetry Prize and is forthcoming in Spanish translation. Her poetry and short fiction have appeared in Ambit, The Best New British and Irish Poets 2016 (Eyewear), 3:AM, Structo, English PEN’s Modern Literature Festival and as part of SJ Fowler’s European Poetry Night and Enemies series. She has translated book-length works by Wim Wenders, Gregor Hens, Kerstin Hensel, Michelle Steinbeck and Marion Poschmann, and is currently translating Michelle Steinbeck’s poetry. She is the founding editor of Verfreundungseffekt, columnist for literature in translation at the newly-founded Brixton Review of Books and the inaugural Translator in Residence at the British Library.
