Our final event celebrates two phenomenal prize-winning poets. Hannah Lowe is the author of the 2021 Costa Book of the Year, The Kids (Bloodaxe), a book of sonnets about teaching and learning, inspired by Lowe’s own experience working as a teacher at an inner-city London sixth form. Joelle Taylor is a poet, playwright, former UK slam champion and author of the 2021 T.S. Eliot prize-winning collection, C+nto and Othered Poems (The Westborne Press), which enters the private lives of women from the butch counterculture, telling the inside story of the protests they led in the ‘90s to reclaim their bodies as their own.
